NOTES FROM THE NURSES:

This is a reminder that the nurses are available to see students from 8:00a.m.-8:30a.m. to submit doctor’s notes/forms and obtain elevator passes, and 11:00a.m.-12:00p.m. as well as 1:00p.m.-2:00p.m. for illness and injury that is not an emergency.  Emergencies will be seen at ANY time during school hours!

SENIORS, please submit immunization records ASAP so that we can ensure you are compliant with state regulations.

NEW MESSAGE(S):

The POWER Internship for juniors and seniors runs from September 26th-February 13th every Wednesday from 2:00-5:30pm at Temple University. POWER Interns will explore a multitude of political and social justice issues, like victim blaming, internalized oppression, and privilege, over the course of this 18-week internship. They will create some sort of media project around a topic of their choosing, which they will present at the conclusion of their internship. Please attend an info session on September 12th after school in Room 208 to learn more. Advisors please announce:  All students interested in joining the WRESTLING team, there is a mandatory meeting after school on Wednesday, 9/12 in room 244. This meeting is for all NEW wrestlers only. Coach Julien (9/12)

Teen Leadership Corps at Awbury Arboretum (just 1 mile west of CHS) is accepting applications for their program on urban agriculture, food justice, landscaping, entrepreneurship. Earn badges as an “apprentice” to get paid a stipend and the opportunity to move up to the paid intern level.  Program meets Mon./Wed. (4-6pm), Sat. (9am-1pm). Seniors:
Yearbook retakes will be completed here at Central on Monday, September 24th through Friday, September 28th. Please call Lifetouch Studio at 1-800-334-1531 to schedule an appointment. Photos will be taken in the Wrestling Gym between the hours of 8:00 – 2:15 daily.

Faculty/Staff:
Yearbook photos will be taken for ANY NEW Faculty and Staff, as well as any returning Faculty and Staff on Monday, September 24th through Friday, September 28th, in the Wrestling Gym. Please drop in, whenever you are free, between the hours of 8:00 – 2:15 daily.

All Faculty & Underclassmen:
Yearbook photos for Homeroom students and their advisors will be taken on the following dates:

  • Wednesday    10/17   279
  • Thursday     10/18   280
  • Friday       10/19   281

Students will meet at 8:00 AM, with their advisors, in the Auditorium. Homeroom groups will be called out to the patio for photos and then all students and their teachers may return to their regular classroom homeroom.

All Faculty & Seniors:
The Superpan Photo will be taken on the South Lawn and in the Gym on Wednesday, October 24th; rain date October 25th. Seniors should meet MR. Horwits, in the Auditorium at 8:00 AM, wearing their Central Spirit gear.    P. Cameron
