► FUMO FAMILY LIBRARY WON A GRANT to develop a teen area at the library to encourage and welcome teen audiences and support teen specific programming. Fumo Library is looking for  dedicated teens living in South Philly to:
-Design and purchase furniture for the space with guidance from a design specialist.
-Work on community projects of their choosing
– Offer suggestions for teen programming.

Circle the name of students that DID NOT receive their pass due to absence. If any student’s name is missing on the list, DO NOT ISSUE A TRANSPASS. Send student to the office. Thank You.

► Faculty: LIBRARY PASSES were placed in your mailbox. Please abide by the “Two per day” protocol. If  a student has a pressing need to utilize library resources simply fill in student library pass and send them on their way. Keep library passes in a safe place as there is a black market for library passes among the student body. Encourage students to use library before and after school:  Library hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.;  Wednesdays 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  -J.R. Lobron

► RUTGERS ONCOLOGY OLYMPIAD ACADEMIC COMPETITION –  fo

cusing on cancer diagnosis, treatment, symptoms, genetics, and healthcare specialists. The event is comprised of two rounds: an online individual qualifying test and a team tournament. Individual qualifying tests will occur online in January 2018. Students will chose one of the following dates: Thursday, January 18; Friday, Janurary 19; or Saturday, January 20. The online qualifying test will be available for 90 minutes from the time the registered students open the test on testing date chosen.

Who may participate in this event? Anyone in grades 8-12 may participate in the individual portion of the event; however, only scores in the top 10% of those taking the online individual qualifying test will qualify for the team tournament.
