►TRANSPASS LIST INFORMATION – SUBMIT TRANSPASS PACKETS TO THE MAIN OFFICE BY THE START OF 1ST PERIOD.  All students MUST initial next to their name on the enclosed printout. Circle the name of students that DID NOT receive their pass due to absence. If any student’s name is missing on the list, DO NOT ISSUE A TRANSPASS. Send student to the office. Thank You.

► Faculty: LIBRARY PASSES were placed in your mailbox. Please abide by the “Two per day” protocol. If  a student has a pressing need to utilize library resources simply fill in student library pass and send them on their way. Keep library passes in a safe place as there is a black market for library passes among the student body. Encourage students to use library before and after school:  Library hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.;  Wednesdays 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  -J.R. Lobron

► THE SCIENCE HELP CENTER is open after school on Mondays and Wednesdays in Room 99.  Work in small groups with Science Fellows on ANY science subject and schedule one on one practice time.  E-mail Ms. Bader with any questions (lbader@philasd.org).

► Any student interested in joining THE BOWLING TEAM should see Mr. Johns in Rm #060 in the gym. League play will begin in December. We have both a boys and girls team here at Central.

► S.E.A.S is meeting this afternoon in room 402 to develop sustainability plans for CHS and begin work on various grants.  Come give input and gain important skills.  Or take out your aggression on weeds. We’re gardening too. -Ms. Cohen

► CENTRAL’S SCIENCE HELP CENTER is open every day in the Barnwell Library during advisory for all science classes.  If you are in need of science tutoring, please contact Ms. Bader by e-mail (lbader@philasd.org) or stop by her office after school (Room 405).  Students interested in earning community service hours by serving as a Science Fellow (peer tutor) in the Science Help Center should e-mail Ms. Bader (lbader@philasd.org). –L. ►277 SCHOLARSHIP AND COLLEGE INFO POSTINGS are available on the Central HS Counselors 277 Google Classroom. For questions or access please contact Ms. Chasan.

► RUTGERS ONCOLOGY OLYMPIAD ACADEMIC COMPETITION –  focusing on cancer diagnosis, treatment, symptoms, genetics, and healthcare specialists. The event is comprised of two rounds: an online individual qualifying test and a team tournament. Individual qualifying tests will occur online in January 2018. Students will chose one of the following dates: Thursday, January 18; Friday, Janurary 19; or Saturday, January 20. The online qualifying test will be available for 90 minutes from the time the registered students open the test on testing date chosen.

Who may participate in this event? Anyone in grades 8-12 may participate in the individual portion of the event; however, only scores in the top 10% of those taking the online individual qualifying test will qualify for the team tournament.
