Parental Involvement / Right to Know

The best thing parents can do to support their child(ren)’s academic achievement is get involved in their child(ren)’s schools and to take advantage of various Rights to Know. Parents have a right to know the extent of their child’s progress. This can be achieved by parent-teacher meetings and active involvement through homework assignments as well as reading and conversation with their child.

The School District of Philadelphia recognizes that partnerships between families and schools are strong foundations for educational reform. Each school, in collaboration with parents, writes its own Family Involvement Policy and School/Parent Compact, using the templates below:
